The Forum Carpaticum 2025 brings together researchers, policymakers, and civil society to address sustainable development in the Carpathian region. Hosted by the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava, the conference will explore challenges and opportunities in mountain and rural areas through interdisciplinary research, inclusive policy dialogue, and cross-sector collaboration.
The conference focuses on advancing sustainable development by bridging natural and social sciences and empowering vulnerable communities in rural and mountain regions. The conference highlights two key themes:
- Building capabilities and fostering participation of marginalised groups through social economy in multi-level sustainable development policies.
- Promoting transdisciplinary, impact-driven research that integrates natural and social sciences.
This edition will feature collaborations with Horizon Europe’s SERIGO project and RESDI’s initiative supporting Roma community involvement in the EU Green Transition. It aims to strengthen regional and interregional cooperation, support young researchers, and facilitate dialogue among diverse stakeholders.
