Third Age Ireland (TAI)

Description

The work of Third Age directly addresses the core issues that SERIGO is concerned with, particularly social exclusion. This initiative primarily focuses on older adults, but it also extends to migrants through its key programme, ‘Fáilte Isteach’. Through its three core programmes, Third Age provides advocacy and social support services for older adults, facilitates the integration of migrants, and promotes community development.

Aim

The TAI case study seeks to answer the following research question: what challenges and opportunities has Third Age faced in facilitating older people in rural areas to volunteer and thus remain active in their communities, while also supporting other older people?
