The Changing role of libraries in rural communities (LIB)

Description

Libraries are on the frontline of the public sector, serving as unique institutions with the potential to seamlessly connect communities with public services. By providing an engaging and autonomous environment, libraries can act as vital hubs that foster empowerment and facilitate learning activities within local communities.

During the Estonian Library Year 2022, an initiative was launched as a training programme focused on creating and conducting meaningful dialogues within libraries. This pilot programme, designed for librarians, attracted 20 participants from across Estonia.
