This initiative explores Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) models that employ diversified production systems to tackle social-ecological vulnerabilities in rural areas linked to intensive and monoculture production systems.

Aim

DIV hypothesizes that SSE offers a holistic approach by considering the interconnection of social, economic, and environmental aspects in agriculture. It also explores how different SSE relate to the context through decentralized and bottom-up approaches to production, in contrast to the top-down nature of intensive farming. Additionally, the study examines whether and how different SSE initiatives collaborate.
