Community Social Enterprise (CSE)

Description

The local government in Raslavice is actively implementing social innovations with a primary focus on promoting social inclusion. There are several initiatives, among them:

• Community centre: offering low-threshold services that are easily accessible to all who need social assistance.
• Field social work: contributes to mitigating the impact of poverty and social exclusion by reaching out to individuals with limited access to resources and services, directly addressing their needs within the community.
• Social municipal enterprise: dedicated to achieving a measurable positive social impact by implementing construction activities and providing socially beneficial services to support regional development and employment. It is focused on green and sustainable economy, such as green farming, environmental services, solid waste processing and alike.

Raslavice is showcased as a good practice example of a very active local governance. The case study will also explore the cooperation of local government and community based civic organisations as well as with EU funded projects led by the national government.

Aim

Through the CSE case study, several research questions are addressed: how do different actors implement social innovations enhancing the social inclusion of vulnerable groups? What barriers are they facing and what are the drivers that led to the establishment of social innovations? How do the implemented social innovations impact vulnerable groups?
