Building bridges in Cranendonck (BBC)

Description

Inwonerscollectief Cranendonck is a citizen-led initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable people (refugees) in their small village on the countryside of Noord-Brabant (bordering Belgium).

This case study is interesting because it addresses a gap left by the municipality and other organisations, namely that of fostering a relationship between local residents and refugees, thus promoting social inclusion in a rural context.

Aim

BBC explores the factors necessary for success and the challenges in order to support local refugees, aiming to improve ‘liveability’ in Cranendonck and build bridges between local villagers and refugees.
